Fuego en Casa Records
Out 5th October
Celebrating the end of restrictions in Europe and beyond, Madrid 79 has produced a so-far stand-alone track that's all about the party. Of course, the virus has not gone away so it's not the end of danger, but the responsible of us can go out and enjoy ourselves in relative safety. Crossing busy high-streets and mingling with strangers, we put our faith in others to do their bit with us. Those of you who have been reading about electronic music long before The Electro Review showed up in 2018 will remember Future Music Magazine. This classic publication often gave away free samples on CD as incentive to get into production. This track by Madrid 79 is made from these samples. It just goes to show that with a bit of know-how and an artistic mind, great stuff can come from anything.
Huge synth chords flummox into a groovy sequence, bumped up by whistle synth and droplet bass that thunders in the sub-tones. Uplifting happy melodies chime and chirrup in a silken layer floating on the top of siren sounds and the warming pad synth pinned to snappy drums and sunken bass. Vocal samples repeat in hooky lines of phonic expression. An old-skool wash is drenched over the framework of progression and relax. Every new bar reinvents the mixture to bring out all the flavours.
