Club maestro and sound producer Gafacci brings us the sounds of electronic Ghana with his stand alone release, Dance Plug. Cultural infusions of afro-beat and techno are blended with precision and intelligence once more for this global release. From humble beginnings with a PC and a copy of Fruity Loops, this now established music-maker has climbed each step to these lofty heights. Building from his love of Asokpor, a musical style Ghanaians can't get enough of, these beats and sounds no-doubt hold many grains of future influence. Having been a performing DJ at several worldwide events, including As a DJ, he has graced world stages like CTM Festival, Fusion Festival, Nyege Nyege Festival, and Oslo World. It's clear that fans all over the planet have been waiting to hear this new number.
The music opens with a smooth and minimal beat. Punchy bass rumbles into multiple dimensions of sound as new elements are gradually given room to grow. Trumpet like brass bass swoops in with pulsations of groove as swervy and energetic moments of sound portray their journey. Flutes and vocals are given a window, their colours radiate with rhythmic luxury as relaxing and evocative percussion rumbles on. Evolutions and breaks in the tempo give rise to flurries of interesting sonic cushioning that give way to unique and intellectual sound bytes. Strings and drum craft interest as vocal inclusions add an aura of mystery and intrigue. Dance Plug is a fun, bouncy, and freshly unique sounding piece.
